As part of the gaming industry’s continual effort to promote and ensure safety for its patrons and communities, the American Bus Association (ABA) and American Gaming Association (AGA) announced a new partnership to promote safety, share best practices with industry personnel, and reduce the number of unsafe bus operators transporting passengers to gaming destinations.
“Both organizations are leaders within their industry segments and recognize that by working together we can help to ensure our respective customers will have safe experiences," said Peter Pantuso, president and CEO of the American Bus Association, in a statement. "I look forward to working with the AGA in a collaborative effort to enhance the safety of our customers."
“Through our partnership with the ABA, we will share best practices with our members and build on our industry’s strong commitment to ensuring only properly credentialed and safe buses transport casino visitors to gaming facilities,” said Geoff Freeman, president and CEO of the American Gaming Association. “Our industry is committed to the safety of our guests and our partnership with the American Bus Association will take that commitment one step further.”
Stan Smith, vice president emergency management, Boyd Gaming Corporation, said, “We take the safety of our patrons very seriously, and this partnership will help us work even closer as partners with bus companies. Details matter. We’re in the business of minimizing risks. Tour buses play an important role in facilitating visits for our customers, and we want to make sure we partner exclusively with safe, reliable, and licensed bus companies."
The AGA’s "Get to Know Gaming" campaign is an ongoing effort to tell the story of gaming’s positive effects on communities. AGA’s partnership with ABA helps underscore the gaming industry’s commitment to safety and corporate responsibility in all communities nationwide.
