Virginia Limousine Association Elects New Board

Posted on August 6, 2014 by Tom Halligan - Also by this author - About the author

WILLIAMSBURG. Va. — The new Board of Directors of the Virginia Limousine Association (VLA) were introduced Monday evening during its monthly meeting. The new members are Paul Walsh, president (Superior Executive Transportation); Randy Allen, secretary (James Limousine); Pam Tripp, treasurer (Tripps Travel); Andrea Saathoff, first vice president (Albemarle Limousine); Barry Shapiro, vice president (James River Transportation).

Long-time VLA president Glenn Stafford (Love Limousine) steps down after serving on the board in various positions since 1990. “I’m not going away,” says Stafford, who will continue working on legislative issues on behalf of the VLA — especially the fight against TNCs. Despite a cease-and-desist order against Uber and Lyft issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles, the companies continue to operate illegally.

Stafford said the VLA will continue to keep the pressure on the DMV and legislators to “level the playing field” so these companies operate with proper insurance and registration. “We are scheduling meetings with the DMV and legislators during the next six weeks to stay out in front of the issue before the new legislative session begins in January,“ he said.
