In its efforts to go green, RMA Worldwide Chauffeured Transportation acquires a fleet of the greenest luxury livery vehicle on the market.
ROCKVILLE, Md. -- RMA Worldwide Chauffeured Transportation recently took delivery of several Royale Ford Fusion Hybrid L sedans, the greenest livery vehicles so far.
The Fusion Hybrid Ls are stretched six-inches by Royale Limousine Manufacturers of Haverhill, Mass., a Ford QVM coachbuilder. The combination of added legroom and mileage upwards of 40 mpg has made it a success among operators serving a green corporate clientele.
The Fusions join RMA's flex-fuel SUVs as the green component of its 95-vehicle fleet. RMA also owns a service station where recycling of tires and many vehicle fluids is common practice.
"We, as a company, have an obligation to not have an adverse impact on the environment while providing world class service to our clients," said RMA CEO Robert Alexander in a statement. The new Fusions get twice the average gas mileage of RMA's current fleet.
"Our plan is to take delivery of about 20 more of these vehicles this coming winter," Alexander says. As the time comes to turn over its fleet of Lincoln Town Cars, RMA's plan is to replace them with vehicles that add little or no pollution.
RMA clients already have accepted the new green vehicles. A large portion of RMA's service is providing travel to and from the three major airports serving Washington, D.C. Many corporations now have a travel mandate to ride with companies that have a plan to reduce carbon emissions.
RMA Worldwide Chauffeured Transportation, founded in 1988, serves the nation's capital and the surrounding region as well as worldwide service in more than 500 cities.
