A new camera from ASA Electronics shows the rolling rear view and eliminates dangerous blind spots for for shuttle bus, Sprinter bus, and mobility bus drivers.
ELKHART, Ind. -- ASA Electronics recently debuted its new Voyager OBS562C Medium Duty Observation System to the bus and van industry.
The system, complete with a durable 5.6-inch LCD monitor, a rear color CMOS mini-camera, 4-inch adjustable monitor mount, and necessary cabling, is specifically made for eliminating dangerous blind spots in shuttle bus, sprinter bus and mobility vehicle applications.
The Voyager OBS562C single or two camera/monitor observation system helps drivers navigate daily driving maneuvers such as backing up, changing lanes, merging, and making turns. A space-saving, 5.6-inch color LCD screen offers clear, high quality images and easy-to-use front controls. The screen also has a standby on/off button that allows the monitor to enter standby mode when the power is off.
The OBS562C kit contains one rear camera; however, the 5.6-inch monitor has two camera inputs so the second camera can be added to increase vision for such needs as the right side blind zone camera or an internal camera (driver/passenger viewing) if desired. The compact monitor boasts two 12v triggers that bring automation to the systems via reverse gear and/or turn signal activation. It is also designed with an integrated audio speaker, On Screen Display (OSD), and an anti-glare/anti-scratch protective lens.
This medium duty system also includes a Voyager Super CMOS "ice-cube sized" color rear camera, which offers drivers the ability to see well beyond the normal scope of vision provided by conventional mirrors. The waterproof, high performance camera features wide viewing angles (128 degrees) and innovative CMOS technology which has allowed for increased picture quality, enhanced night-time and daytime vision, and a decrease in camera size.
When paired with the Voyager 5.6-inch monitor, it delivers high-quality, real time images that help eliminate road vision limitations. The Super CMOS camera also prevents direct sunlight, headlights and light halos from washing out the images on screen. The rear camera can be easily surface-mounted on any bus or van application.
