Ready to Roll Transportation Takes Steps To Clean Up Emissions

Posted on December 8, 2009

Ready to Roll Transportation joins Green Ride Globa in cutting its emissions by a fifth during the next five years.

NEW YORK -  Ready to Roll Transportation (www.readytoroll.com), a chauffeured transportation company serving the greater New York City and Los Angeles areas, has designed a carbon reduction strategy aimed at achieving a greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction of 20% over the next five years through fuel efficiency, the transition to new technologies, reduced electricity use, waste diversion, and employee education.

As members of Green Ride Global (GRG) -- a firm that creates and implements environmental sustainability programs for the ground transportation industry -- Ready to Roll Transportation is on a monitored and measured path to environmental sustainability, with third-party reports to validate it.

While environmental awareness and concerns around climate change continue to increase, Ready to Roll Transportation has implemented an environmental management system that is ISO 14001 compliant and qualifies them for the inclusion in the US EPA Climate Leaders program. Some of the initiatives they are implementing include:

  • Establishing an in-house Environmental Committee
  • Evaluating the latest in hybrid and alternative fuel vehicle technology
  • Measuring, monitoring and reporting on business travel and staff commuting
  • Diverting waste and working towards a zero-waste facility
  • Choosing biodegradable solvents and cleansers for vehicles and office
  • Transitioning to a paperless office
  • Retrofitting office lighting

The team at Ready to Roll Transportation recognized the need to incorporate environmental sustainability into ground transportation. "We have committed to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions from every aspect of our business operations and can now provide a service that will help our clients reach their own sustainability goals" says Gale Ricketts, President of Ready to Roll Transportation.

Ready to Roll Transportation is able to provide corporate clients with Scope 3 emissions reports, detailing for their clients how their own indirect Scope 3 emissions are coming down by virtue of using Ready to Roll Transportation as their ground transportation provider.
