SCOTTSDALE, AZ - GPS Insight, a supplier of GPS tracking hardware and software solutions for commercial and municipal fleets, has released its new powerful Hierarchy Capabilities and Rollup Reporting module. These capabilities will be included at no additional charge to GPS Insight customers.

The GPS Insight Hierarchy Capabilities are an improved way to group vehicles. This set of features is a first of its kind in the fleet management space. It is designed for large fleets to precisely define and report upon multiple types of historical fleet organizational structures. Many customers have divisions and branches, and multiple types of vehicle function. These hierarchical structures can be easily modeled and historically assigned to vehicles, users, drivers, and landmarks within GPS Insight. This reduces the amount of administration involved for large rollouts, and also improves the historical accuracy of division or function-wide reporting.

GPS Insight Hierarchies allow for "rollup reporting" as well as simple "cross section" reporting (e.g. determining how many miles driven, speeding events, or total idling time for the Southwest Service vehicles vs. the Northeast Delivery trucks). This allows for both high-level and "drill down" reporting of various vehicles' GPS history.

The Hierarchy Capabilities are a critical step toward the upcoming GPS Insight Executive Dashboard which will allow GPS Insight customers to define and monitor the exact vehicle usage metrics which are important to them. This capability will allow user-defined "alarm levels" and will enable customers to "drill down" to easily identify and quantify problems within their fleet, using an intuitive, color-coded interface.
