EPA Rates Cleveland Operator As Climate Leader

Company Car and Limousine of Cleveland completes comprehensive greenhouse gas inventories and management plan.

CLEVELAND, OHIO - Company Car and Limousine has successfully completed one of the chauffeured ground transportation industry's most comprehensive greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories and management plans, and as a result, has had its reduction targets accepted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Climate Leaders Program.

The Climate Leaders Program is an EPA industry-government partnership that recognizes companies that develop long-term climate change strategies. Company Car and Limousine is one of 284 Climate Leaders across many industries and sectors.

As a reporting company to the Climate Leaders Program, Company Car and Limousine has committed to an aggressive reduction of 20% in the carbon footprint from all aspects of its business operations by 2013.

"We have gone beyond simply measuring the carbon footprint of our fleet," said Steve Qua, Company Car's President. "Our GHG inventory includes emissions from employee commute to and from work, business travel, and waste disposal, as well as the effects of electricity consumption, heating fuel use, and fugitive refrigerant gases from air conditioning."

Company Car and Limousine is a member of the Green Ride Global Environmental Sustainability Program. Toronto-based Green Ride Global tracks Company Car's monthly GHG emissions and reports on the company's progress toward reaching its reduction targets to stakeholders, clients and government agencies.
