Iron Horse Sales Creates New GPS Tracking Logger For Fleets

Posted on July 29, 2009

The technology is billed as making businesses greener, smarter, and more profitable

LEAWOOD, KS - Iron Horse Sales has launched a new, state-of-the-art GPS tracking system for fleets called the Tecnet Trace GPS Tracking Logger that features the latest GPS technology from SIRF III.

In today's economy, knowledge of where, when and how efficiently a company's manpower, fleets and delivery systems are being used is crucial. In the past, tracking systems have been too expensive for many companies. Now, obtaining that information economically and accurately is available to any size business or organization with the Tecnet Trace GPS Tracking Logger - an application for fleets of all sizes.

"Companies of all sizes - even independent reps - can benefit from using the Tecnet Trace. For example, sales reps can download their trip information as often as they need for company reporting or store up to five months at a time on the included SD card for tax records," said Brad Rowe, owner of Iron Horse Sales. "Companies who previously shied away from GPS due to cost can now afford to benefit from the savings the information GPS tracking will give them.  Anyone using company-owned vehicles such as buses, district vehicles, HVAC and plumbing trucks, taxis, couriers, waste removal trucks, municipal vehicles and delivery trucks can easily use the Tecnet Trace and see an outstanding ROI. GPS technology isn't just for the deepest of pockets anymore."

The Tecnet Trace GPS Tracking Logger enables businesses to:

  • Structure and evaluate routes for maximum time and fuel efficiency including idle time
  • Log locations, speed driven, and sudden starts and stops, which can reduce maintenance costs
  • Document locations to help safeguard against false damage and traffic claims, etc.
  • Record inappropriate personal use of company vehicles

Smaller than a deck of cards, the Tecnet Trace is ready to use - just "plug and play." Each unit comes with software, USB adapter, power cord and keepers, and mounting magnet. All software and trip information is downloaded from the included 1GB SD memory card and overlays onto Google Earth maps for viewing. Collected data is also shown in tables and Excel spreadsheet reports.

ROI is substantial. Companies have documented $1,000/month savings per vehicle using GPS information. The one-time cost (no monthly fees) is $169.

Information: Tecnet Trace is available on the company's website at www.ironhorsekc.com .
