Operations

An Industry Evolving

Posted on April 1, 1983 by John Kilroy, LCT Editor

It is the nature of any business that change will occur on a regular basis. An Integral part of doing business, in the limousine service field or any other, is realizing that your operation should by no means remain static. This sense of dynamism at work was clearly evident in the Informal survey we conducted of limousine agencies across the country. The business environment for the limousine service industry is indeed changing.

The marketplace, however, is not evolving in the same manner or the same tempo uniformly across the country. Genuine regional differences exist. In some major metropolitan areas, a good deal of education still needs to take place in order to relate the fact to the individual and corporate consumer that the luxury of being chauffeured in a limousine is indeed affordable. In other well developed markets, where the competition is keen, consumers’ tastes or transportation needs may be in a slight flux, but the implications of such changes reverberate tremendously through agencies in those particular markets.

At the most elemental level, the product itself – the limousine – is changing.

As a trade magazine, this is precisely where Limousine & Chauffeur can be most helpful. Just as you stand ready to adapt to the future, in whatever shape it may take, we are dedicated to providing you with the information that exists that may help describe just what that future may be.

It is not change that hurts a business; it is the inability to foresee it and plan for it. It is our goal that Limousine & Chauffeur will be the preventive measure for this particular business ailment.
