Publisher's Page: “It’s Show Time in Las Vegas

Posted on February 1, 1996 by Sara Eastwood

I can hardly believe it’s that time again.  Every year now since 1984 we have all gathered to share ideas, welcome new faces, and meet suppliers we have built long distance relationships with over the telephone.  Everyone is in their best business attire and ready to go.

The 12th Annual LIMOUSINE & CHAUFFEUR Show is here, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and the turn out is expected to be phenomenal.  The energy level and buzz over the past few months can only be described as invigorating.  This type of atmosphere is what brought a sense of excitement to our office environment in the days leading up to the convention.

Not only did we see record breaking registration numbers, and we were overwhelmed with responses to our Operator of the Year and Graphics Contests.

There was such an abundance of Operator of the Year nominations, the judging team evaluated them into the weekend hours!  Not only were there dozens of entries in each category, but the quality that was displayed across the board made choosing the finalists one of the most difficult tasks leading up to the show.  The presentations were the most professional to date.  We applaud the time and energy you put in for this prestigious award.  Hats off to all of you.

The Graphics Contest boasted literally hundreds of creative items that were judged by the LIMOUSINE & CHAUFFEAUR graphics team.  The entire magazine staff was extremely impressed with the ingenuity that operators across the country displayed in their advertisements, specialty items, and printed brochures.  Be sure to look for many of the Graphics Contest entries on display here at the convention.

This year, for the first time ever, KRYSTAL KOACH sponsored the entire opening reception.  With their support we were able to organize the most extravagant party the LIMOUSINE & CHAUFFEAUR Show has ever seen.

The National Limousine Association is to be commended for its outstanding job of organizing an incredible lineup of speakers.  Aside from the fanfare of the exhibits and events surrounding the show, it is still our number one objective to make sure you leave the convention with a greater knowledge of how to more effectively run your limousine business.

A final note of thanks goes to Cadillac Motor Car Division and Lincoln-Mercury for their exclusive show sponsorships; United States CoachWorks for contributing to the Operator of the Year Awards Banquet; and all of the coachbuilders and suppliers who put on a fantastic show for everyone.

LIMOUSINE & CHAUFFEAUR is proud to be an integral part of something that each of us is so passionate about and love.  This is what it’s all about.
