My 2001 Town Car L didn't start one morning.

Posted on June 1, 2007 by LCT Staff - Also by this author

Dear Dr. Limo,

Could you advise? My 2001 Town Car L didn't start one morning. The fuel pressure was good but was sending a "1260" code on the computer diagnostic, which is a security problem. The light is flashing on the dash showing a security issue also. No pulse to injectors.

Any thoughts?

Dear Brent,

If you have another key to the car, you can try that. It might start it. Ford security is very good and if the computer has failed or forgotten the code, you will have to have it towed to Ford and they will have to re-flash the computer and re-train the keys to the car.

Does the keyless entry and everything else work? I would look at all of the fuses to make sure that one did not fail from vibration.

You can call me at 256-797-0911 and I will walk you thru a few other things to look for.

Dr. Limo
