Seminar Sneak Preview - Sales and management courses top the list at LCT Show

Along with featuring the latest in products and services, the LCT Show is also known for providing attendees with information they can use to run their businesses better. This year, Dale Carnegie & Associates will present two exciting courses for all attendees. Additional seminar topics include how to motivate your employees, a complete marketing strategy for your limousine company, and a special “Ask the Experts Think Tank.” Below, we’ve listed a summary of topics and speakers.

Dale Carnegie & Associates • Super Sales Session • Course on Management Learn how to jump start your sales in Dale Carnegie’s “Super Sales Session.” In this interactive session, you’ll learn five proven ways to build faster rapport with your customers and have a breakthrough year. Learn how to lead your customers through the five steps of the Dale Carnegie sales process that produces bottom line results.

In the “Course on Management,” you’ll learn and commit to eight Dale Carnegie habits that will make a difference in your ability to manage processes and lead people, one key to successful management in the 21st century.

Dale Carnegie & Associates celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2002, and The Dale Carnegie Course, the foundation of the organization, is recognized worldwide as a definitive program in human relations.

Smith System • Reducing Vehicle Claims Through Driver Training “The cost of insurance and claims is a tremendous problem in the limousine industry,” says Del Lisk, president of The Smith System. “A top-notch driver training program is a key tool in controlling these expenses.” In this seminar, attendees will learn useful and proven strategies that they can use to improve driver performance and, ultimately, reduce traffic accidents.

Lisk has been with the Smith System for the past 19 years, assisting hundreds of clients in implementing successful programs. Lisk has personally been on the road under actual traffic conditions with more than 5,000 drivers, teaching them how to use the Smith System to dramatically reduce risk while behind the wheel.

Wilmington Quality Associates • Motivating Employees in Today’s Work Environment 

Powerful Leadership Practices for Today’s Business Environment Thomas Hudgin is president of Wilmington Quality Associates, a business management training and consulting firm with a focus on helping individuals and companies improve their performance and helping employees develop pride in workmanship. ““We help others become more successful and provide techniques to improve profitability and competitiveness,” Hudgin says.

Hudgin has given seminars for over 200 corporations. He facilitates on-site focus group discussions to improve company communciations, operating efficiency, quality of work, company image and competitive position.

“You cannot tell people to be motivated, but you can create a work environment that fosters self-motivation,” Hudgin says. In “Motivating Employees in Today’s Work Environment,” topics will include dealing with poor performers, developing self-confidence and recession-proofing employee motivation.”

Hudgin’s second seminar is “Powerful Leadership Practices for Today’s Business Environment.” “Attendees will learn how to build trust and respect with their employees by being a great coach,” Hudgin says. “Topics will include how to create fear-free relationships, what it takes to be a great leader, and four leadership styles that work.”

Tom Mazza Executive Director National Limousine Association • Complete Marketing Strategy For Your Limousine Company” • Developing Managers From Within Your Company Tom Mazza is the former senior editor of LCT magazine where he wrote more than 200 feature articlces. He is also the author of “The Complete Guide to Operating a Successful Limousine Service” and “Beyond the Basics: The Complete Guide Part 2.” He also co-authored “Stretching It: The Story of the Limousine.”

Mazza will be presenting two seminars at the LCT Show. His first seminar, “Complete Marketing Strategy For Your Limousine Company,” will begin with developing a mailing list and budget and extend to Internet strategy, network strategy, hiring a salesperson (or acting as your own), direct-mail strategy, and how to become the recognized expert in your field.

Mazza’s second seminar is “Developing Managers From Within Your Company”. “In order to grow a limousine company (or any company), an entrepreneur must develop talented employees who will make his or her vision a reality. This session will start with, “Hiring Managers-in-Waiting,” to “Developing a Career Path,” to a precise strategy on how you can keep these talented individuals on a long-term basis.

Pat Williams – Keynote Speaker Co-founder of the Orlando Magic Pat Williams has been affiliated with the National Basketball Association since 1968, and he now works for the Orlando Magic, a team he co-founded in 1987 and helped lead to the NBA finals in 1995. Williams is a renowned author and motivational speaker, and the author of 25 books, including his most recent, “How to Be Like Mike,” a motivational book about Michael Jordan.

As the keynote speaker for the 2003 LCT Show, Williams will present “The Seven Keys to Leadership in the 21st Century.” In his speech, Williams will discuss the seven keys to leadership: vision, communication, people skills, character, competence, boldness and a servant’s heart, using examples from both the sports and management world.

Four Seasons’ Course on Customer Service Training - The Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts is known for extraordinary customer service. Every year, the hotel is the recipient of numerous awards based on the unique guest experience it provides. In this seminar, you will learn from the experts on how to attain the highest service levels for your client. Don’t miss this one!

“Ask the Experts” is a special “Think Tank” session geared toward small and medium operators, and a separate session for large operators. Moderated by Tom Mazza, NLA executive director, and Scott Solombrino, president of Dav El Chauffeured Transportation, this seminar will feature company experts discussing challenges in today’s business world and solutions you can take to help your business survive and thrive.

Another seminar highlight will be a panel discussion, “The Fundamentals of Operating a Limo Company,” moderated by Tom Mazza. This seminar will cover the essential first steps for those new to the industry or those operators who simply want to brush up on the basics.

Also, there will be special question-and-answer sessions with Ford and Cadillac, where attendees can ask specific questions.

The State of the Industry will include a special presention on dealing with the insurance crisis today. And finally, in the State and International Association Summit, attendees can get up-to-date information on legislative issues and exchange ideas. Enjoy the Show!
