Cab Catching

Statewide Limousine Service, Inc., of Detroit, MI, is interested in educating the general public on the affordable and luxurious transportation offered by limousine services. One mode through which Statewide Limousine Service has commenced this marketing strategy is to go after the taxi cab market. Through advertising and competitive fares, we have had some success encouraging airport-bound taxicab clientele to travel in a comfortable limousine while remaining within their budget.

A primary and very real concern is that clients will meet up with the not-so-reputable unauthorized limousine services. For this reason, Statewide Limousine Service has petitioned the City Council of Detroit to develop a limousine standing zone for licensed limousine operators only. This will allow the Detroit Police Department to enforce the city ordinance regarding “bond plates.”

At the present, it is nearly impossible for the police to determine the violators of this ordinance and to issue the penalties and fines required by law. The City Council has requested Statewide Limousine Service to participate in a task force against such offenders to protect the licensed limousine services.

Detroit’s metropolitan area is saturated with limousine operators, and we feel that it’s important for our industry to support ordinances and regulations intended to eliminate unauthorized limousine services.

General public awareness of limousines has been greatly enhanced recently, and limousines are now being utilized by more than just an elite few. This is a positive indication, and indicates the direction toward which we should all aspire. If limousines are affordably priced, and if quality service is maintained, consumers will not hesitate to choose the luxury of a stretch limousine over that prehistoric form of transportation... the taxicab!

At Statewide Limousine Service, we maintain our position as Detroit’s largest and finest livery concern because we have created and promoted the image of the affordable limousine.
