Think and Grow Rich is a truly unique book. Written by Napoleon Hill in 1937 at the tail end of the Depression, Think and Grow Rich is one of most read and cited motivational/success books ever written.
Napoleon Hill was inspired to write the book by Andrew Carnegie, who also introduced him to other highly successful men on his era, including Thomas Edison and Henry Ford. Hill spent countless hours interviewing these and other wealthy and famous people about their personal philosophies and reasons for success. From these interviews over several years, he culled a list of success principles, which he called laws. It was the first time that such an inside look at the mindset of the highly successful became available to a mass audience.
He also created a series of famous slogans that are used by people as success mantras. Perhaps the most famous was: "What the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve." Hill believed that if a person becomes highly focused on a goal and invests great passion and dedication toward achieving it, along with belief that it can be accomplished, great things can be done. Naopleon Hill’s influence can be seen throughout today’s media, including motivational speakers Tony Robbins and James Ray, and in the DVD, “The Secret.”
