ABA’s Newsletter Spin-Off Provides Extra Coverage

WASHINGTON, D.C. — The American Bus Association (ABA) said Monday that the “Foundation Focus” section of the bi-weekly ABA Insider newsletter will be spun-off from its parent publication and become its own bi-weekly stand alone newsletter featuring exclusive coverage of ABA Foundation scholarship programs, and research on motorcoach tourism and travel.

The first stand-alone Foundation Focus will be published on Nov. 2.

“The ABA Foundation is enhancing its benefits to the entire industry through its research programs and scholarships that seed the future,” said ABAF Board of Governors Chairman Doug Anderson. “For the 2009-2010 academic year, the Foundation awarded the highest number of scholarships in its history, as 19 scholars each received $2,500 to help them pursue careers in the motorcoach, tour and travel industry. In its 13-year history, the ABA Foundation has awarded nearly $400,000 to 158 students.

ABA Foundation Board Vice Chair Sara Hamlin said, “The research projects conducted by the ABA Foundation show how motorcoach travel and group tours infuse destinations with tourism dollars in every state and province across North America.”
