TORRANCE, Calif. — LCT Show East is tracking three times as many early registrants as it did at this point before its previous LCT Eastern Conference that was held from 2005-2009 at the Mohegan Sun, Conn.

Most attendees to a regional trade show tend not to register until within a few weeks or even days before the actual event, which means LCT Show East attendance will likely hit four digits.

LCT Show East, with seminars managed by the National Limousine Association, will be the leading premium-level East Coast trade show, educational forum and networking spot this year in Atlantic City. It will be held at Caesars Atlantic City and the Atlantic City Convention Center Oct. 27-29. It follows the former Limo Digest Show that held its last event in Atlantic City in November 2012 and then moved its show for 2013 to Philadelphia. That Show has been delayed until next year.

In launching LCT Show East, LCT and its partner, the National Limousine Association, build on their legacy of having created the first national limousine industry trade show in Atlantic City in 1984. That version of the annual trade show ran through 1997.

LCT formed a revenue-share partnership with the NLA in 1990. Today, the association has generated nearly $5 million. The LCT Shows are the single largest fundraiser for the NLA. The NLA receives 85% of the registration proceeds for its efforts on the conference front. This money is placed into its general fund and is recycled back to the industry through enhanced education, lobbying, legal work and public relations on behalf of the limousine industry.

In the last three decades, LCT and NLA have successfully produced the highest-quality shows and conferences in the chauffeured transportation industry. These events have enabled a once splintered and provincial industry to gain a significant presence and prestige in the U.S. business travel, ground transportation, and hospitality sectors. Operators find the most valuable money-making leads and useful information at LCT events.

“We were pleasantly caught off guard in mid September when our hotel block completely sold out," said Sara Eastwood-McLean, LCT Publisher, chair of LCT Show East, and LCT liaison to the NLA. "I began to get frantic calls that rates were $400! That was the first good sign that the Show was going in the right direction. Needless to say, we renegotiated our contract with Caesars and secured more rooms at the $60 rate, but once again, it has filled up and we are again trying to expand our block. It seems our loyal readership and the NLA membership is giving this event a huge thumbs up and we are extremely excited.”

The annual International LCT Show — the largest chauffeured transportation business event worldwide — will be held Feb. 16-18, 2014 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
