LCT East Version 2.0 Heads For Atlantic City In 2013

Posted on November 15, 2012

LCT Magazine in tandem with the National Limousine Association will re-launch the LCT Eastern Conference next fall in Atlantic City, N.J., which was previously held at the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut from 2005 to 2009 when it was furloughed due to the severe recession.

This next-generation LCT East will offer the limousine industry a complete trade show marketplace, networking forum, and educational sessions ideal for limousine operators nationwide. It marks a new era of LCT industry leadership on the East Coast.

The event will be held Oct. 27-29, 2013 at the Atlantic City Convention Center with host hotels at the newly remodeled Caesars Atlantic City.

The return of LCT East coincides with a disclosure this week by the competing Limo Digest Show that this is the last year it is holding its event in Atlantic City.

LCT East is being coordinated with the NLA and will build on the superior educational, networking and industry commerce opportunities that are staples of the annual International LCT Show held each winter in Las Vegas.

“The East Coast is the largest concentrated market for our industry,” said Bobit Business Media CEO Ty Bobit, the original publisher of LCT Magazine and founder of the LCT trade shows. “It has been challenging for us to be headquartered on the West Coast and not have an event to foster deeper relationships with the other half of the country. We are thrilled that Atlantic City has now become available as a show destination once again and look forward to coming back.”

The NLA will assume the role of running the educational program and will enjoy the same partnership arrangements it receives by endorsing and participating in the annual International LCT Show in Las Vegas, now the world’s largest trade event for the global luxury chauffeured transportation industry.

“The NLA receives the majority of the registration revenues from its members who attend our shows,” said LCT Publisher and Show Chair Sara Eastwood-McLean. “In 2012, the NLA was awarded a check for more than $200,000 from the ILCT Show. So these shows are supporting the NLA, and in looking at the tough economic road ahead, that money will be vital to the organization for fighting issues in Washington, D.C. The eastern event will also afford the NLA a platform to meet with its membership and to create a first class seminar program.”

The original LCT trade show, the industry’s first major one, debuted in 1984 at Caesars Atlantic City, where it was held annually until 1998 when it moved permanently to Las Vegas.

LCT will release more details on the new LCT East in coming months. The next major industry event is the 2013 International LCT Show being held at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Feb. 5-7.
