The New LCT: Rebranded, Renamed, and Repositioned

LAS VEGAS — LCT Publisher Sara McLean announced a new name for the magazine Monday during the International LCT Show: Limousine, Charter & Tour.

The new name, logo, and format starts with the February 2009 issue, being mailed out as you read this. We’re still called LCT, and we’ll still cover limousines like before, but now we also will add motorcoaches, charter operations, and bus tours to our content mix. Our new direction simply confirms what we’ve been seeing for years: More and more chauffeured transportation operators are buying vans, shuttles, mini-buses, limo buses, and the big motorcoaches.

And with the pairing of luxury style chauffeured service with the practicality of large group transportation, new market opps are emerging.

Group transportation has become more important to corporate travel managers and meeting planners looking for efficient ways to save money in a down economy. Buses also are requested by destination management companies, sporting and special events, wedding parties, wine tours, and other markets.

A trip across the exhibit hall during the International LCT Show revealed many coachbuilders expanding into a wide variety of bus offerings, including motorcoaches. Operators are more interested in expanding their fleet options as opportunities grow.
