Empire CLS Worldwide Chauffeured Services, based in Norwood, N.J., now owns all of its vehicles and employs all of its chauffeurs, as its owner/chairman, David Seelinger, clearly communicated to LCT this morning. The company previously had some independent operators.
RIGHT NUMBERS/WRONG LIST: With 734 vehicles, Empire CLS now ranks SECOND among owned/leased fleet companies behind Dav El Chauffeured Transportation Network and ahead of supposedly THIRD ranked BostonCoach. We say supposedly because BostonCoach declined to cooperate with LCT this year in providing specific fleet numbers, despite being one of the largest operators in the industry. Well, at least as of last year.
Carey International still leads the independent operator fleets section of the list, but its fleet total is based on an estimate as well, due to a lack of input.
