A welding fire damages three of 50 vehicles belonging to Entertainment Express Limousine and Luxury Coach. No one is hurt.

DEARBORN HEIGHTS, Mich. — A welding job gone wrong ignited a blaze July 11 at a limousine rental business.

An employee was welding a limousine about 10 a.m. during a refurbishment job when the fire broke out at Entertainment Express Limousine & Luxury Coach, 6986 N. Telegraph.

Fire crews from Dearborn Heights, Dearborn, Redford Township and Garden City were called to help put out the fire and the resulting gaggle of emergency vehicles caused traffic backups on Telegraph south of Warren Avenue.

Entertainment Express owner Pat Mifsud said no one was injured, but the fire did damage three limousines and the building. The company has 50 vehicles in its fleet.

It was initially unclear how bad the building was damaged, Mifsud said. He added that the business remains open and a temporary office is being delivered tomorrow so that normal operations can resume.

Entertainment Express has been a member of the National Limousine Association since 2004.
