NEWARK, N.J. - Newark Liberty International Airport has installed cashier free lanes which will now work on the E-Z pass system.

This will allow transportation providers to get out of the parking area faster with their clients. The E-Z pass system works with a transponder installed on the windshield or on the license plate of the vehicle.

Julio Pereria, supervisor of parking operations, said the transaction using the E-Z pass system should take less than 45 seconds on average.

In addition to the E-Z pass system, the airport is also implementing Pay on Foot or Pre-Paid machines. These will be in place by mid July. By using this method, the driver will now be able to use the Express Pay exit lanes thus cutting down on wait time.

The new technology will be an added convenience to operators who previously had to wait with the public in the cashier lanes.
